In that video, we demonstrated why adding a stair runner to hardwood stairs is a safety precaution we encourage clients to take. We find that hardwood stairs present a danger when there are children, pets, or people with mobility issues in the home. A runner provides a safe place to walk on the stairs, not to mention the added comfort of the soft carpet underfoot.
