Hardwood is the most popular flooring for a reason: it’s beautiful and timeless, and instantly upgrades any room. We love using Urban Floor’s hardwood in our builds and renovations, and we’re sharing some of our favorite hardwood trends with you all!
Wide plank
Long, wide planks are still really popular – and we totally understand why! They definitely make a statement, and have a gorgeous rustic feel.
European oak
European oak, with a wirebrushed finish, creates a matte finish with gorgeous texture and character. Bonus: the matte finish & added character help to hide imperfections that may arise – which, let’s be honest, they usually do at some point.
Light tones
Natural wood tones have been trending for a few years, and they aren’t showing any signs of letting up yet. We love seeing light tones in floors with contrasting decor, like the wood beams in the Treehouse Reno!
Medium wood tones
The perfect middle ground between natural wood and bold dark floors, medium tones go well with a wide variety of design styles and decor, and aren’t too “trendy.”
Laminate
While the majority of our clients opt for engineered flooring, we have used laminate in areas that aren’t conducive to natural wood. Laminates have come a long way, and are a great option for families with kids, or pets who are especially destructive. I bet many of your guests wouldn’t even be able to tell the difference!
