"There are two things that make a room timeless: a sense of history and a piece of the future."

HERE are SOME tips to avoid design fatigue:

You opt for classic pieces with clean, simple details that will stand the test of time. Neutral colors are your love language, as they never go out of style. You like traditional elements, such as wall moldings, cabinet details, and trim, but prefer to keep them clean and not fussy.

You approach design with a sense of permanence, and are willing to invest in important pieces as you know they will last.

In your world, neutrals are king, and you opt for timeless staples over trends.

So what does it really mean?

Now that you know your style, create a Pinterest board for each room you're designing and start saving images that all have the same feel. You’ll still have an array of options, but you’ll be able to make the final decision with more confidence knowing it suits your aesthetic.

Creating Mood Boards

1.

Start with one piece that will be your focal point and build off of that. Whatever it is, make sure you genuinely love it. Your focal point should put a smile on your face because odds are you're going to be looking at it a lot. This could be a tile, counter, sofa - generally it's a foundational piece of your space.

Pick the rest of your décor to compliment that one statement piece. This will help you overcome any interior design indecision you may be facing. As a rule of thumb, we tend to stay more neutral on the items that are more permanent (such as tile or countertops).

2.

Color and texture can transform how you feel. It’s science, friend. Each shade has a unique psychological affect. For example, blue is calming, which makes it a great pick for bedrooms.

Texture can also add a lot to a room. If you’re going for a warm, inviting vibe, pick soft fabrics. We like to add color and texture through items that can easily be swapped out, so if over time you get sick of them, you aren't demoing tile to change the look.
