The details make the difference!
One of our favorite design tips for adding texture and character to any space is to add molding and trim to your walls. This design feature goes beyond just crown molding and baseboards, so you can really have fun with the various patterns, trim thickness, etc. We recommend adding trim or molding to a space with a lot of empty walls like a dining room or bedroom. Whether you try this design tip on your own or with the help of a contractor, we promise it will instantly elevate your home.
While there are countless ways to add trim to your spaces, here are a few methods we use often:
Applied Molding
Applied Molding works by trimming the wall at about the halfway mark using a large chair rail and creating shapes using a smaller chair rail or panel molding below it.
Wainscoting
Wainscoting is a paneling that covers only the lower portion of an interior wall or partition.
Beadboard
Beadboard is a style of wood paneling characterized by long, continuous vertical grooves and raised beads spaced every inch or two.
Vertical Shiplap
Shiplap is a specific type of wood paneling with a rabbet (groove) cut at the top and bottom of each board so that they overlap to form a tight seal.
Horizontal Shiplap
Shiplap is a specific type of wood paneling with a rabbet (groove) cut at the top and bottom of each board so that they overlap to form a tight seal.

Hi there, I was wondering if you would be able to tell me what color paint / sheen was used for the “#lakerileyrebuild mudroom”.
I would love to use this color on a project I am working on. Thank you!
At the beginning, I was still puzzled. Since I read your article, I have been very impressed. It has provided a lot of innovative ideas for my thesis related to gate.io. Thank u. But I still have some doubts, can you help me? Thanks.
