We confess, we love fall and everything that comes along with it. The leaves are turning gorgeous colors, the weather is perfect for bonfires, and pumpkin spice is back. It’s one of the best times of year here in Minnesota. The beauty and coziness of autumn are reasons enough to celebrate with festive decorations all over the house — including bringing some warmth to your exterior with fall porch decor.
Putting up fall porch decor is one of our favorite ways to get into the season. Decorating your porch is never a wasted effort, but that’s especially true during the autumn months when holidays are gearing up and entertaining season is in full swing.
Wreaths
Wreaths aren’t just for winter, we swear! Pick one that features a leafy design and it will go a long way in making your space feel more festive for fall. We suggest focusing on color too. The warm tones of brown, gold, red, yellow, orange and even purple are ideal for capturing the spirit of fall.
Wreaths with faux fall foliage can also add a pop of color to your door. Chrysanthemums, sunflowers and poppies are great choices.
Rugs and Doormats
When we think fall, we think layers! We love the trend of layering doormats — try putting a patterned doormat under a more plain one to add a little extra interest. This styling technique allows you to add dimension to your fall porch decor with plenty of layers and varying textures.
