Ceiling Fan Sizing Tips

Having trouble deciding what size of fan to purchase? We suggest avoiding fans that look too small or too large for your space. This isn’t only important for looks, but also for function in being able to properly cool down your room! Here are some guidelines for picking out the correct size fan:

• For rooms under 144 sq. ft., choose fans under 42″
• For rooms between 144 and 225 sq. ft., choose fans between 44-55″
• For rooms between 225 and 400 sq. ft., choose fans between 50-62″
• For rooms over 400 sq. ft., choose fans above 62″

Another thing to note is ceiling height. If your ceiling height is less than 9 feet, we suggest a flush-mount ceiling fan. If your ceilings are over 9 feet, go with a down rod.

Pro tip: If you have a tendency to lose things, install your fan remotes directly on your wall. We like to put them next to the main light switch — we swear by it!
