welcome home

Everyone loves the summer sun, but it also puts extra strain on your home. A little home maintenance now can save you from costly repairs later. Here are five simple tasks worth adding to your checklist this season.

Service Your Air Conditioner

Your AC works overtime in summer. Replace or clean the air filter every 1–3 months, clear debris from around the outdoor unit, and consider a professional tune-up if it’s been a year or more since the last one. A well-maintained system runs more efficiently and lasts longer.

Inspect the Roof and Gutters

Summer storms can be tough on your roof. Check for loose or damaged shingles, and clear gutters and downspouts of tree debris so rainwater can drain properly. Clogged gutters can lead to water damage around your foundation.

Test Outdoor Faucets and Sprinklers

Turn on each outdoor spigot and check your irrigation system for leaks, broken sprinkler heads, or uneven coverage. Fixing issues now helps conserve water and keeps your lawn healthy through the dry months.

Clean Windows and Screens

The extra daylight during summer months is great, but if you’re windows are dirty, you might find yourself wishing the sun would set a little faster 😉 Give windows a good wash, inside and out, and inspect screens for tears.

Power Wash Exterior Surfaces

Driveways, decks, siding, and patios collect dirt, mold, and mildew over time. A power wash refreshes their appearance and can help you spot cracks or damage before they worsen.

A few hours of upkeep now can prevent headaches and expenses later in the year. Tackling just one or two tasks each weekend can help keep your home as ready for summer fun as you are!
