The age-old question: “what are the best grout colors to pair with subway tile”? You’re in luck because today we’re finally sharing our go-to’s!

When it comes to making over a space, picking out a grout color often gets overlooked amongst the pretty tile, paint colors, and hardware finishes. Depending on the color you pick, it can change the look and feel of your entire design! Whether you’re trying to create contrast with a deeper grout or going for a blended and seamless look, we’ll talk you through our favorites by Laticrete below:

#90 – Light Pewter

Light pewter is by far one of our most widely used grout colors! This shade is a true gray to “greige” grout that pairs beautifully with white subway tile, offering a subtle but noticeable contrast. It’s our go-to middle ground shade if clients don’t want to go too dark or too light.

#44 – Bright White

If you love a fresh, clean, and bright look, bright white grout is the color for you! When paired with white subway tile, this grout color prevents the eye from being distracted from the grout lines. Overall, this creates a blended and streamlined look in your space.

#45 – Raven

For a more dramatic look, consider a more contrasting grout. Our go-to shade is Raven by Laticrete. This dark gray (almost black) grout color provides a classic yet modern look against white subway tile.

#60 – Dusty Grey

The Dusty Grey grout by Laticrete is a beautiful choice for white subway tiles as the slight contrast in color helps make the white tile pop! Once you add a color difference between your tile and grout, the shape of the tile appears more clearly, and the grout itself forms a pattern out of the negative space.

#88 – Silver Shadow

Silver grout may seem subtle, but it’s a cool shade that makes the standard shape of white subway tile sing. We find that Silver Shadow by Laticrete accents subway tile by offering a refined and chic look.
