welcome home

Whenever our clients tell us they want to do color in their home in a subtle way, we always recommend our favorite light blue paint colors. Blue is a timeless choice for interiors, and we find that light blue shades in specific are so refreshing to use on kitchen cabinetry, trim, built-in shelving, bathroom vanities, and more. There’s something about a dusty blue that creates a comforting, tranquil, and airy environment within the home.

Scroll down to check out our go-to light blue paint colors and how we used them in our past projects!

BENJAMIN MOORE ICED MARBLE

We used Iced Marble in the laundry room and loft at #TheLakeLoft

If you’re looking for a more classic and elegant shade of blue, we’re a sucker for Iced Marble! As part of the Benjamin Moore Classic Color Collection, this shade guarantees beautiful, usable color all the time. We highly recommend Icy Marble as a pop of muted color for cabinetry in mudrooms and laundry rooms, as we did at #thelakeloft.

BENJAMIN MOORE ADAJIO

For a subtle nod to the color blue, we recommend the shade Adagio for the harmony it brings to every space. This color offers a mid-tone gray-blue look, perfect for mudrooms and laundry rooms. We’ve found that this shade plays off of pattern tile well and creates a calming and serene environment. We opted to use Adagio in multiple different spaces at the #LakeRileyRebuild.

BENJAMIN MOORE WOODLAWN BLUE

So you’re on the hunt for a timeless pop of blue? Say no more. We love Woodlawn Blue for its refined and elegant appeal and its ability to pair perfectly with almost every neutral shade. This shade is steeped in tradition and is a part of the Benjamin Moore Historic Color Collection: a collection of 191 time-honored hues. This dreamy shade is known for its ability to adapt to various home styles.

SHERWIN-WILLIAMS WINDOW PANE

Empty Bedroom at the #MaxwellBayBuild is painted using Sherwin-Williams Window Pane
The bedrooms at the #MaxwellBayBuild were painted using Window Pane

For a light blue color that’s saturated but not overpowering, we recommend Sherwin-Williams Window Pane. This shade is more blue-green, but it’s very light, so the color lends itself well to bedrooms and living spaces. If you’re looking to incorporate color into your home without making it too obvious, this shade is for you!

SHERWIN-WILLIAMS KRYPTON

Calling all nautical home lovers, we have the perfect cool blue shade for you. Sherwin-Williams Krypton is our go-to blue-gray paint because it plays well with others! The undertones this blue pulls make it easy to pair with brass, matte black, and silvers hardware finishes. We opted to use Krypton as an exterior paint color at the #MaxwellBayBuild, and we adore the charm it lends to this lakeside home.

The list of our favorite light blue shades could go on, but for now, we’ll leave you with our five tried and true. For more of our top five favorite paint shades, visit us on Instagram @almahomes!
