With school starting back up, every pumpkin product you can imagine on the grocery store shelves, and a chill in the Minnesota air, it’s sure starting to feel like fall around here! As with any change of seasons, fall has us dying to update our decor a little. And, in the same way we all know that curb appeal is super important when selling a home, your outdoor decor can truly transform the whole vibe of your home! Decor this time of year spans a couple months, from back-to-school, to Halloween, to Thanksgiving, so there are a ton of options when you’re choosing decor. We went out to find a few tried-and-true and new ideas for getting your front porch (or steps, or doorway) ready for fall!
Floral Accents
One tell-tale sign that fall is near is the change in flowers for sale at farmers’ markets and grocery stores! Think lots of mums, goldenrod, and rich colors. Finding some real or faux fall florals is an easy way to bring the season into your home, both inside and out! Here’s some floral inspiration we’re loving this fall:

Pumpkins
Okay, so this one is pretty obvious. Definitely pick out some pumpkins from a local patch, and get creative with colors and textures, too! We especially love neutral-toned and textured pumpkins. Layer them between mum arrangements for the perfect fall display. (Jack-o-lanterns for Halloween optional!)

Textiles
As the weather cools down, a good way to channel lots of cozy vibes is to bring in some textiles! Seasonal-hued (or neutral) pillows and blankets, or even fabric pumpkins, are a perfect addition to front porch benches, chairs or swings. Bonus points for season-appropriate patterns! Think plaid, buffalo check and chunky knits.

Door mat(s)
People have been using seasonal doormats to celebrate the change of seasons forever, but you don’t have to stick to the cheesy old school variety. Think neutral colors, bold patterns and fun seasonal phrases. We’re also loving the trend of layering doormats! Try putting a patterned doormat under a more plain one to add a little extra interest.

Door Decor
Another classic. Wreaths and door decorations have been around for a long time, but there’s a reason for it! Find a wreath that ties in fall florals, or go for more neutral greenery with pops of fall color. You can also skip the wreath altogether and add a fun fall phrase to your door, or try something else entirely.
