welcome home

Fall is officially here, and we could not wait any longer to share how we plan to decorate our front porch for this cozy season!

It’s one of the best times of year here in Minnesota; the leaves are turning gorgeous colors, the air is brisk, and pumpkin spice everything is everywhere. As with any change of seasons, Fall has us dying to update our front porch decor. Whether you opt for a full fall display or a couple of pumpkins and seasonal foliage, we’re here to share all of our best styling tips.

Scroll down below to browse our favorite ways to style our front porch for Fall!

FOLIAGE + PLANTERS

One tell-tale sign that fall is near is the change in flowers for sale at farmers’ markets and grocery stores! Think lots of mums, goldenrod, and rich colors. Finding some real or faux fall florals is an easy way to bring the season into your home, both inside and out! Fill your planters with a mix of colors, heights and textures for maximum visual interest. Here’s some floral inspiration we’re loving this fall:

PUMPKINS

Sometimes all you need is good old-fashioned group of pumpkins to create an eye-catching display. They come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and even in different colors, and you can take advantage of this variety to create a simple and beautiful front porch. You can put a few pumpkins on display, and you could also add a few planters with colors that match the pumpkin-themed palette. Consider Layering them between mum arrangements for the perfect fall display!

LANTERNS

Glowing candle lanterns are our favorite way to add height in our Fall display, and it offers a warm and inviting feel to guests. Don’t be afraid to mix classic, autumn staples with bold, modern accents like sleek metal lanterns. These stylish vessels come in varying sizes, and you can switch them up as the seasons change! Considering adding flameless candles into your lanterns for an evening glow unlike any other.

DOOR MAT(S)

When we think Fall, we think layers! We love the trend of layering doormats – try putting a patterned doormat under a more plain one to add a little extra interest. This styling technique adds dimension to your fall porch decor with plenty of layers. Shop of our favorites way to achieve the layered look below:

WREATHS

A pretty faux fall wreath makes a good investment you can reuse for years to come! Hanging up a wreath is the easiest way to give your front porch a little fall flair, and it’s super easy. Go all out with a harvest wreath, or keep it understated with an elevated seasonal wreath. Shop our favorites below:

Whether you keep it simple with a couple of pumpkins and potted plants or go all-out with a display, adding a little fall decor to your entryway is sure to make everyone who visits feel a little extra cozy and welcomed. I found your suggestion quite intriguing when you told us to consider adding flameless candles to our lanterns if we want to create a beautiful evening glow to complement the sleek metal design of the lanterns. I wanted to decorate my front porch to make the vibe of our house more welcoming, so I was thinking of displaying candle lanterns by the entrance. I’ll be sure to consider your idea once I find out where to buy exotic metal candle lanterns soon.

I like that you suggested getting faux plants or flowers will bring the season into our home easily. I will make sure to research on what to get once we get new porches for our homes, since my best friend and I plan to hire contractors this summer. We wanted to get this project done at the same time, and we will make sure to decorate it according to the season right now.
