The clients at our #KennyReno wanted to redefine city living for their growing family by updating the appearance of their home to match their Scandinavian style. One of the primary goals our clients had was to reconfigure the main level floor plan. In addition, they wanted to add on a primary suite that included a spacious bedroom and master bath. Their windows were also nearing the end of their life, so exterior updates were high on their list! Let’s dive into the details below and check out the grand project reveal!
The overall design was very important to our clients, and it was one of the main reasons they hired us! We spent a lot of time understanding their wants, needs, and style. When it came to finishes, we chose materials that would give them a modern Scandinavian aesthetic, while still maintaining some of the old charms of the home. We incorporated a lot of wood tones to amplify the existing spaces and opted for modern hardware accents paired with soft colors.
To create the open-space feel they wanted, we removed most of the existing walls on the main level to create an open kitchen, living, and dining area, perfect for entertaining. We also established a space for the mudroom and powder room coming off the backyard as they wanted.
On the exterior, we replaced all of the windows, doors, siding, and roofing, as many of the items were reaching the end of their lifecycle. This allowed our clients to have the design align more with their style.
