welcome home

Let’s talk about curb appeal! The front door of a home is the first welcome that guests receive.

We believe that a front door has the ability to set the tone for the rest of the house. With the variety of door styles on the market, it’s easy to find one that expresses your personality and design aesthetic. It’s also important to find a front door that functions well and fits your daily needs.

If you’re confused and overwhelmed by the different kinds of front doors on the market, this post is your go-to guide to help you figure out which door is best for you.

FRONT DOOR WITH GLASS PANELS

We opted for a wood front door with glass panels at #thelakeloft to get a little more privacy than what a full glass door has to offer. We still get to enjoy the flood of natural light through the glass panels on the side, without feeling obliged to answer the front door to strangers.

GLASS FRONT DOOR

We used a glass front door at the #bloomingtonbuild to make a bold and modern statement. Our clients love the floor of natural light that glass front doors provide. With a glass front door, you get the full enjoyment of the outdoors without the pestering from insects and other outdoor nuisances.

SOLID WOOD FRONT DOOR

If you’re less concerned with the visual appeal of a front door and more concerned with the quality, then a solid wood door is a very sturdy and secure door. Because of their durability and lifetime value, solid wood doors are a bit pricey. They’ll also require regular upkeep to maintain their look and finish. Another benefit to wood doors is that it’s easy to change the look with paint or wood stain.

CONTEMPORARY GLASS FRONT DOOR

We opted for a bold and contemporary front door at our #minnetonkamodern project, and we love its curb appeal. The abstract paneled glass design allows the maximum amount of natural light into the home. Contemporary doors with clean lines and geometric shapes give your home sophistication that can be felt from the outside and in.

FRONT DOOR WITH SIDELIGHTS

Front doors with sidelights are another excellent way to enjoy the warm glow of natural lighting while maintaining privacy. We love the pop of color we added to the front door at the #maxwellbaybuild to contrast the natural lighting. This front door style gives you a lot of options when it comes to attributes like style, durability, and energy efficiency.

  1. Sam Andrews says:

Oh, hi! It feels great knowing that we could still receive decent lighting by opting for glass panels. My neighbor’s living room seems quite dark because it has only one window. I guess she could consider this kind of option when ordering a set-up later on.

  2. It is good to know that a front door can set the tone for the rest of the house. My friend wants to have a firm entry door. I should advise him to work with an expert in entry doors to ensure proper installation.

  3. Mia Evans says:

I like that you talked about being able to enjoy the outdoors with glass exterior doors while having no issues regarding insects and other outdoor nuisances. I think I would like that for the door in my backyard, so we can see the view of the garden and the location we are in. And we definitely have a nice view because our house is up on a hill.
