welcome home

Laundry rooms don’t have to be cold, dark closets with a washer, dryer, and detergent stacked wherever. In fact, the laundry room has the potential to be one of the most beautiful rooms in the home – definitely good incentive to get your chores done!

Storage Space

Storage space is a must in the laundry room. Cupboards or cabinets are ideal for storing detergent, cleaning supplies, etc., but if space is tight, open shelves are also a great option. Also consider adding a countertop over the washer and dryer for additional folding space that doesn’t take up valuable space in the room, and a bar for hanging clothes, too!

Good Lighting

If you can have a window in your laundry room, do it! It’s much more enjoyable to spend time in a room with light than a dim space.

Consider raising your machines off the ground

Having your washer and dryer on a platform is a great way to avoid having to bend way over every time you need to load and unload laundry. If it works for your space, consider lifting your machines up a bit. It looks great and it makes life easier! Not to mention the extra storage space you can create under your machines, perfect for storing laundry baskets, detergent or linens.

Add some flair

Patterned or colorful tiles are a great (and functional) choice for the laundry room, because they look amazing and are waterproof, too. We also love the use of wallpaper to give some extra style to a laundry room!

Regardless of the size of your laundry room, there are a few easy ways to make it a beautiful and functional space – super important for a room that gets a lot of traffic!
